Itinerary
Day 1, Sunday
- Arrive Tel Aviv
Upon arrival, we will be met and assisted through customs
and transferred to our hotel.
Day 2, Monday
- Masada / Dead Sea
Today we drive via Ashdod, Ashkelon, Beersheba. A short visit
to the Negev capital then continue via Arad to Massada. Ascend
to the fortress which was the last stronghold of the Jewish
zealots in their war against the Romans. We visit the excavations,
Herod's palace, the synagogue, bath house overlooking the
Roman camps and the Dead Sea. Proceed to Jerusalem to the
hotel for overnight. (B)
Day 3, Tuesday
- Jerusalem
Today we drive to Mt. Scopus for a view of Jerusalem then
to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of the Agony. Drive
to Mt. Zion for a visit to the tomb of King David, the Room
of the last Supper and Dormition Abbey, the Israel Museum's
Shrine of the Book with its famous Dead Sea Scrolls, the Knesset
(the Parliament), the Hebrew University campus, Mt. Herzl
and Yad Vashem. Visit the model of Jerusalem then we continue
to the Hadassah Medical Centre to visit the synagogue with
its Marc Chagall stained-glass windows. Back to our hotel
for overnight. (B)
Day 4, Wednesday
- Jerusalem / Bethlehem
Today we walk through the Yaffa Gate to the Old City, the
renewed Jewish Quarter, the Western Wall, the Temple area,
the colorful bazaars, Via Dolorosa, and the Church of the
holy Sepulchre then we continue to Bethlehem to visit Rachel's
tomb and the Church of Nativity. Back to the hotel for overnight.

Day 5, Thursday
- Tiberias / Galilee
Today we drive via Bethany to Jericho, the oldest city in
the world to visit the excavation and then continue via Jordan
Valley and the new settlements to Beit Shean. After a short
visit proceed to Tiberias, the old centre of Jewish learning.
Drive along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum
to visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue. Continue to a
Kibbutz hotel for overnight. (B)
Day 6, Friday
- Golan / Nazareth
Today we drive to the Golan Heights, Birkat Ram and the Druse
villages. Via Banias, source of the Jordan River then proceed
to Kiryat Shmona and the Hula Valley to Safed, city of the
Kabbalah, to visit the old synagogue and the artists' colony
and then to Nazareth to visit the Christian holy sites. Return
to the Kibbutz hotel for overnight. (B)
Day 7, Saturday
- Acre / Haifa / Caesarea
Today we drive to Acre to visit the old famous Crusader stronghold
and medieval fortifications. Continue to Haifa to visit the
Bahai shrine, Persian garden and Mt. Carmel for a panoramic
view of the city. Proceed to Caesarea to visit the Roman theatre
and the Crusader fortress. Drive via Natanya to Tel Aviv.
Short city tour of Tel Aviv, Yaffo and then to our hotel for
overnight. (B)
Day 8, Sunday
- Tel Aviv / Amman
Today we drive to the border to cross to Jordan and visit
Mabada to see the ancient mosaic map of the holy land then
to Mount Nedo, from where Moses viewed the promised land then
transferred to our hotel in Amman. (B)
Day 9, Monday
- Petra
A three hours drive over the desert highway brings us to this
"Rose-Red city" half as old as time, carved from
living rock over 2000 years by the Nabataeans. The only entrance
to the fortress city is through a long, narrow passage. The
sudden view of the Petra's most spectacular monument, the
Treasury, is a dramatic sight then will see the high place
of sacrifice, the monastery and Roman styled palace tomb.
We drive back to Amman for overnight. (B)
Day 10,
Tuesday - Amman / Jerash / Tel Aviv
Today we visit Jerash one of the world's best preserved Greco-Roman
cities and to see temple of Zeus then we will be transferred
to the border to cross back to Tel Aviv for overnight. (B)
Day 11, Wedesday - Depart Tel
Aviv
Today we will be transferred to the airport. (B) |
