Itinerary
Day 1, Friday
- Depart Canada
Departure from Toronto, Montreal or New York on our overnight
flight to Cairo. (In-flight meals)
Day 2, Saturday
- Cairo
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport we will be met
and assisted through immigration and customs then transferred
to our hotel.
Day 3, Sunday
- Cairo
Today we visit the great Pyramids of Giza and their guardian
Sphinx, Memphis-first capital of the ancient kingdom to see
the statue of Ramses II then to Sakkara to see the Step pyramid.
Overnight at our hotel (BL)
Day 4, Monday
- Cairo
This morning we visit the Egyptian Museum which houses the
treasures of King Tut then to the Citadel of Salah Eldien
and Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Overnight at our hotel. (BL)
Day 5, Tuesday
- Aswan
This morning we are transferred to Cairo Airport for our flight
to Aswan. (Optional trip by air to Abu Simbel *). Then we
will be escorted to embark on the Nile cruise ship-our floating
hotel for the next five days. After lunch, we sail by 'felucca'
a traditional Nile sailing boat, to view Kitchener Island
and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Overnight in Aswan. (BLD)
Day 6, Wednesday
- Komombo / Edfo
Today we visit the impressive Aswan High Dam and its huge
lake, and the Temple of Philae. Then we cruise to Komombo
to visit the Temple shared by the Gods Sobek & Haroeris. Tonight
we enjoy a special costume party featuring Native Egyptian
and pharaonic style. Overnight in Edfo. (BLD)
Day 7, Thursday
- Esna / Luxor
This morning we explore the Temple of Horus, the falcon god.
Then we sail to Esna and continue sailing to Luxor. Overnight
in Luxor. (BLD)
Day 8, Friday
- Luxor
Today we explore the wondrous Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's
Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon. This afternoon we visit
Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. Overnight in Luxor. (BLD)
Day 9, Saturday
- Luxor / Cairo
Today we will be transferred to the airport for our flight
back to Cairo. (Optional Day-Tour Alexandria) Overnight in
Cairo. (B)
Day 10,
Sunday - Cairo / Athens
Today we will be transferred to Cairo International Airport
for our flight to Athens. Upon arrival , we will be met &
assisted then transferred to our hotel. Time to rest or to
start exploring the Hellenic capital.
Day 11,
Monday - Athens
Today we visit the Acropolis and its fascinating museum, Panathenian
Stadium and Temple of Olympian Zeus. In the evening an optional
tour to Sound and Light show followed by dinner in a Greek
taverna in the old Plaka with the sound of bouzouki music
and folk dances. (B)
Day 12,
Tuesday - Hydra / Poros / Aegena
Today we enjoy a delightful one day cruise in the Saronic
Gulf, sail to the Island of Hydra and enjoy swimming, strolling
or shopping. Lunch is served on board on our way to the picturesque
island of Poros. Afternoon arrival in Aegina. Optional tour
our visit the temple of Aphaia. Evening arrival in Athens
and transfer to our hotel. (BL)
Day 13,
Wednesday - Delphi
Today we drive through the spectacular sites of Boetia, Thebes,
Levadia and arrive at Arahova , known for its colourful rugs
and carpets. Proceed to Delphi, once known as the centre of
earth. We will visit the Temple of Apollo and the museum,
exhibiting amongst other masterpieces, the ancient Greek sculpture
of the Bronze Charioteer. Lunch will be served at a taverna
in Delphi. Evening return to Athens. (BL)
Day 14,
Thursday - Athens / Cairo
Today we will be transferred to the airport for our flight
to Cairo for overnights. (B)
Day 15, Friday - Depart Cairo
Today we will be transferred to the airport for our flight
back home. (B)
