Itinerary

Day 1, Depart Canada / USA
Departure from Toronto , Montreal or New York on our overnight flight to Cairo. (in-flight meals)

Day 2, Arrive Cairo
Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, we will be met and assisted through immigration and customs then transferred to our hotel. (in-flight meals)

Day 3, Cairo
Today we visit the magnificent great Pyramids of Giza, their guardian Sphinx, Memphis and Sakkara. Overnight in Cairo. (BL)

Day 4, Cairo
Today we visit the Egyptian museum which houses the richest collection of antiquities ever discovered including the fabulous treasures of King Tutankhamon. Also visit the Citadel of Salah Eldien and Khan El Khalili bazaar. (BL)

Day 5, Cairo / Luxor - Cruise
This morning we will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Luxor where we will be escorted to embark on the Nile cruise ship our floating hotel for the next five days. This afternoon, we visit the Temple of Luxor and the Temple of Karnak which has no equal among the national shrines of Egypt. Overnight in Luxor. (BLD)

Day 6, Luxor / Esna / Edfo - Cruise
Today we explore the Valley of the Kings, the Necropolis of Thebes; Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon facing the Nile. This afternoon, we sail down the Nile to Esna, then to Edfo where we spend the night. (BLD)

Day 7, Edfi / Komombo - Cruise
This morning we visit the Temple of Horus, the Falcon of God. We continue sailing to Komombo to visit the temple shared by two gods - Sobek and Haroeris. Komombo’s Ptolemaic Temple offers beautiful murals and unforgettable views of the river Nile. This afternoon we will cruise to Aswan for overnight. (BLD)

Day 8, Aswan - Cruise
This morning we visit the impressive Aswan High Dam and its huge lake, the granite quarries, and the magnificent Temple of Philae. This afternoon we view the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine Islands by “Felucca”, a traditional Nile sailing boat. Overnight in Aswan. (BLD)

Day 9, Aswan - Lake Nasser Cruise
This morning we will be transferred to the Lake Nasser cruise ship and embark before lunch then we visit Kalabeha temple with its Pharaonic aspect, remodeled into the Greco - Roman style and dedicated to the God Mandoulie. Visit the hemi-speos of Beil El Wali, created by Ramses II in the beginning of his reign. Also visit the kiosk of Kerfassi, created to honour the Goddess Isis. (BLD)

Day 10, Wadi El Scboua - Cruise
Sailing to Wadi El Scboua. Overnight on board. (BLD)

Day 11, Wadi El Scboua - Cruise
Morning visit to Wadi El Seboua Temple, dedicated by Ramses II to the two Gods Amon Ra and Ra llarmakis. The temple of Dakka, dedicated to the God Thoth of divine wisdom, lord of times and service, mastor of literature. Visit the Greco-Roman temple of Mecharakka. Sail to Amada. Visit the temple of Amada from the XVIIIth dynasty, built during the reign of Thotmosis III. Amenoplis III and Thotmosis IV. Also visit the Hemi-speos of Detr, dedicated by Ramses II to the rising sun . Finally the tomb of Penout, viceroy of Nubia. Sail to Kasr Ibrahim. Overnight on board. (BLD)

Day 12, Kasr Ibrahim / Abu Simbel
Morning visit to the Citadel of Kasr Ibrahim sole vestige of the distant past of Nubia in its original location. Explanation is done from the sundeck of the ship as entrance to the site is not permitted. Continue sailing to Abu Simble, and after lunch visit the temples. Candlelight dinner overlooking the Abu Simble temples when weather permits.

Day 13, Abu Simbel - Cruise
Possibility for a second visit to the temples to watch the spectacular sunrise at the Abu Simbel temples, symbol of the international salvages of the Nubian monument the temples of Ramses II and his beloved wife Nefertari. This afternoon we will be transferred to the airport for our flight back to Cairo where we will be met and transferred to our hotel. Overnight in Cairo. (B)

Day 14, Cairo
Today is free at leisure for last minute shopping (optional Day Tour Alexandria). (B)

Day 15, Depart Cairo
Today we will be transferred to Cairo Airport for our flight back home. (B & in-flight meals)
