4 : Cairo

Today we visit the Egyptian museum which houses the richest collection of antiquities ever discovered including the fabulous treasures of King Tutankhamon. Also visit the Citadel of Salah Eldien and Khan El Khalili bazaar. (BL)

Today is free at leisure for last minute shopping- Day Tour Alexandria. Overnight in Cairo (B-L)

6 : CAIRO / LUXOR - CRUISE

This morning we are transferred to Cairo Airport for our flight to Aswan. (Optional trip by air to Abu Simbel *). Then we will be escorted to embark on the Nile cruise ship-our floating hotel for the next five days. After lunch, we sail by ‘felucca’ a traditional Nile sailing boat, to view Kitchener Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Overnight in Aswan. (BLD)

7 : LUXOR / ESNA / EDFO -CRUISE

Today we explore the Valley of the Kings, the Necropolis of Thebes; Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon facing the Nile. This afternoon, we sail down the Nile to Esna, then to Edfo where we spend the night. (BLD)

8 : EDFO / KOMOMBO - CRUISE

This morning we visit the Temple of Horus, the Falcon of God. We continue sailing to Komombo to visit the temple shared by two gods - Sobek and Haroeris. Komombo’s Ptolemaic Temple offers beautiful murals and unforgettable views of the river Nile. This afternoon we will cruise to Aswan for overnight. (BLD)

9 : ASWAN - CRUISE

This morning we visit the impressive Aswan High Dam and its huge lake, the granite quarries, and the magnificent Temple of Philae. This afternoon we view the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine Islands by “Felucca”, a traditional Nile sailing boat. Overnight in Aswan. (BLD)

10 : ASWAN - LAKE NASSER CRUISE

This morning we will be transferred to the Lake Nasser cruise ship and embark before lunch then we visit Kalabeha temple with its Pharaonic aspect, remodeled into the Greco - Roman style and dedicated to the God Mandoulie. Visit the hemi-speos of Beil El Wali, created by Ramses II in the beginning of his reign. Also visit the kiosk of Kerfassi, created to honour the Goddess Isis. (BLD)

11 : WADI EL SCBOUA - CRUISE

12 : WADI EL SCBOUA - CRUISE

Morning visit to Wadi El Seboua Temple, dedicated by Ramses II to the two Gods Amon Ra and Ra llarmakis. The temple of Dakka, dedicated to the God Thoth of divine wisdom, lord of times and service, mastor of literature. Visit the Greco-Roman temple of Mecharakka. Sail to Amada. Visit the temple of Amada from the XVIIIth dynasty, built during the reign of Thotmosis III. Amenoplis III and Thotmosis IV.

Also visit the Hemi-speos of Detr, dedicated by Ramses II to the rising sun . Finally the tomb of Penout, viceroy of Nubia. Sail to Kasr Ibrahim. Overnight on board. (BLD)

13 : KASR IBRAHIM / ABU SIMBEL

Morning visit to the Citadel of Kasr Ibrahim sole vestige of the distant past of Nubia in its original location. Explanation is done from the sundeck of the ship as entrance to the site is not permitted. Continue sailing to Abu Simble, and after lunch visit the temples. Candlelight dinner overlooking the Abu Simble temples when weather permits.

14 : ABU SIMBEL - CRUISE

Possibility for a second visit to the temples to watch the spectacular sunrise at the Abu Simbel temples, symbol of the international salvages of the Nubian monument the temples of Ramses II and his beloved wife Nefertari. This afternoon we will be transferred to the airport for our flight back to Cairo where we will be met and transferred to our hotel. Overnight in Cairo. (B)
